Mission, Philosophy, and History

Mission: The Wizards & Warriors Summer Quest Camp program provides campers the opportunity to expand their knowledge, develop life skills, and exercise values through creative, interactive role-playing and a positive learning environment. These experiences will enable them to become independent, well rounded, and self aware members of society.

Philosophy: We have two mottos at the Wizards & Warriors Camp; one guides our creative process, and the other guides our operational methods. Our motto for the first is “Honor, Compassion, Courage”. These are the three attributes we want our campers to explore as they are what defines the term “Hero” at our camp. The second, and most important motto, is “Safe, Fun, Educational”. These are our “3RO” (three rules of operation). Every adventure, activity, and interaction that our campers experience must incorporate these three rules, in order of priority.

History: Our camp is very unique in that the entire summer experience is based on an interactive storyline where the campers decide the outcome. But here’s the best part: The story never ends! Our heroes do succeed in various tasks and quests…but the world in which these stories are made continues on each summer, picking up where it left off the previous week or summer. This novel concept of a live, interactive story for young heroes has been perfected over the past decade at our camp in Burlington, MA. It is here that our full and part time staff can work year round providing the adventure and environment that our students and campers enjoy.
